NEW KID ON THE BLOCK -

        RAMON LE ROUX

        By Yvonne Keen

The desire to impress a girl was what indirectly led to Ramon le Roux pursuing a career as a digitiser. Ramon is the son of talented A Stitch a Half duo Annemarie and Sybrand le Roux and the grandson of Miems Kemp from Dainty Stitches. At just 20 years of age he is making an impact of his own on the embroidery scene.

Let's go back to the girl for a moment first! After seeing his mother's free-standing lace collection "Letters to my Love", Ramon asked her to design a collection he could give to this young lady. He had something very specific in mind and nothing short of 'just that' would suffice. After much debate, Annemarie offered to teach Ramon the digitising process so he could make exactly what he wanted. As most 17-year-olds would, he declined the offer!
