Whispers in White Tote Bag
Daisy Lace Umbrella Favor
- I made the bride’s ring bearer pillow. I used your Whispers in White panel for the back fabric on the pillow.
- I was asked by my friend’s daughter to do her shower favors. I found the perfect design for them on your page. I’ve attached photos of the umbrellas I stitched out in the bride’s colors.
- Thank you for creating such beautiful designs. I mostly do freestanding lace, so I’m always on the lookout for new 3D projects.
- I made the handles out of pipe cleaners and buttons instead of the FSL version. I folded the pipe cleaner in half, then threaded the ends through 2 holes of a small button. Then I inserted the ends of the pipe cleaner into the hole on the top of the umbrella. Next I threaded a ¾”-1” button on and slid it up to the inside top of the umbrella, gently pulling down on the pipe cleaner and pushing up on the larger button. Once it was tight I twisted the 2 lengths of pipe cleaner together starting at the button, continuing to the end. The buttons act as washers to hold the pipe cleaner handle centered in the umbrella. To finish the handle, I folded over the sharp ends of the pipe cleaner wire and pressed them in using needle-nosed pliers to be sure there weren’t any sharp points exposed. Finally you shape the crook at the end of the handle. The umbrellas were a hit at the shower.
