A. Start by hooping your FABRIC or GARMENT. Use the correct STABILIZER for the fabric. In this Tutorial we used WHITE FELT with 1 x layer of TEAR AWAY STABILIZER For the CUPCAKE DESIGN we used 3 different COLORS of felt

 

COLOR STOP 1 = Stitch the 1st COLOR STOP = a Running Stitch

 

Place the FABRIC to cover the OUTLINE. COLOR STOP 2 = The Fabric will be secured by the next running stitch Once the fabric is secured – remove the hoop and place on a flat surface.

 

Cut away the excess fabric. Place hoop back and stitch COLOR STOP 3

 

COLOR STOP 3 = A Satin Outline will cover the edge

 

COLOR STOP 4 = Stitch the 4st COLOR STOP = a Running Stitch

 

COLOR STOP 5 = The Fabric will be secured by the next running stitch Once the fabric is secured – remove the hoop and place on a flat surface.

 

Cut away the excess fabric.

 

Place hoop back and stitch COLOR STOP 6 COLOR STOP 6 = A Satin Outline will cover the edge

 

COLOR STOP 7 = Stitch the 7th COLOR STOP = a Running Stitch

 

COLOR STOP 8 = The Fabric will be secured by the next running stitch Once the fabric is secured – remove the hoop and place on a flat surface. Cut away the excess fabric.

 

Place hoop back and stitch COLOR STOP 9

 

COLOR STOP 9 = A Satin Outline will cover the edge. Stitch COLOR STOP 10 through 13 to complete the Design.

 

Cut away the jump stitches.

Step 1 – With Applique it is always a good Idea to use the same Top and Bobbin thread. This ensures a professional finish.

Step 2 – You need the following: •Water-Soluble Stabilizer (Hoop 2 layers Perpendicular) •Embroidery Thread (see color chart in download) •Fabric x 1, Size = approx 4” x 4” •Fabric (contrast) x 4, Size = approx 4″x 4″ each •Cut-Away-Stabilizer x 3, Size = approx 4” x 4” •Ribbon (10″/25cm)long and (0.2″/0.5mm) wide

Step 3 – Hoop the 2 layers water-soluble stabilizer perpendicular for best results.

Step 4 – Stitch the 1st Color Stop. Place 1 layer “cut-away-stabilizer” on top of the running stitch and place the fabric on top of the “cut-away-stabilizer”

Step 6 – Cut away the excess fabric and excess “cut-away-stabilizer”

Step 8 – Stitch the next color stop. This will be the Lace Fill and the Top satin Edge.

Step 9 – Stitch the next color stop. Remove the hoop from the embroidery machine and turn over.

Step 10 – Place 1 layer of fabric, then 1 layer “cut-away-stabilizer”, then again 1 layer of fabric to the BACK. Use fabric adhesive spray to hold these layers in place while stitching.

Step 11 – Front view after the BACK layers were stitched.

Step 12 – Back view after BACK layers were stitched. Cut away the excess fabric. Remember to cut away the fabric inside the tiny “ribbon-hole”

Step 13 – Cut away the stabilizer from the inside of the “ribbon-hole”.

Step 14 – FRONT VIEW – Also cut away the stabilizer from the INSIDE of the cupcake. Be careful not to cut the fabric.

Step 15 – Your pocket will now be open, after the water-soluble stabilizer has been cut away.

Step 16 – Stitch the last color stop. This is the Final Satin Outline.

Step 17 – Rear View after last Color Stop

Step 18 – Remove designs from Hoop. Cut away the water-soluble stabilizer. Use a wet Q-tip to remove the whiskers around the edges.

Step 19 – Insert your GIFT CARD or TEA BAG etc. Thread a Ribbon through both holes and finish with a Bow.

Step 20 – Your Cupcake Pocket is done.

Tutorial 28 – Paperclip Ice Skate ASH2299

Step 1 Hoop 2 x layers water-soluble stabilizer.

Step 2 Stitch out the 1st Color Stop. This is a running stitch to indicate where the fabric will be placed.

Step 3 – In your download is 2 files for a small and medium size Ice Skate. Use Felt (or similar fabric) 4″ x 2″ for the small ice-skate and 8″ x 4″ for the larger ice-skate.

Step 4 – Place the felt to cover the stitching. The fold should be toward the bottom.

Step 5 – The fold should align with the bottom of the stitched area.

Step 6 – Stitch the next color stop. The felt will be secured by a running stitch.

Step 7 – Stitch the next color stop – another running stitch smaller than the previous.

Step 8 – Stitch the final color stop = decorative stitching

Step 9 – Remove the embroidery from the hoop and cut along the outer running stitch – thus removing the outer running stitch.

Step 10 – • DO NOT CUT THE FOLD OPEN TOWARD THE BOTTOM OF THE ICE-SKATE, but remove the outer stitches with a picker!

Step 11 – Un-pick the running stitch toward the bottom. Do not cut the bottom as this is where the paperclip will be inserted. Cut away the stabilizer from the back of the design.

Step 12 – Insert Paperclip. Sliding it in from the front toward the back. Through the fold in the bottom.

Step 13 – Add a ribbon or embellish your Ice-Skate! Your Paperclip Ice Skate Project is complete!
